Acid-resistant asbestos-free gasket material

PKB (ПКБ) is an acid-resistant asbestos-free gasket material developed as an alternative to asbestos-containing paronite gasket. Designed for the manufacture of gaskets for fixed joints of flanges, vessels, pumps, valves, pipelines, compressors and other units.

The special grades of acid-resistant fluoroelastomers used in the manufacture of PKB provide excellent acid resistance and elasticity, which are not attainable by other gasket materials. The material can be used in aggressive environments: a solution of acids and alkalis (up to 98%), concentrated salt solutions, black liquor up to a temperature of 250°C.

PKB is used at the largest chemical, energy and oil refineries in Russia and the CIS countries. Based on the industrial safety examination of JSC NIIKHIMMASH and the positive experience of application at industrial enterprises of Russia, it was approved for the use at hazardous production facilities by the Federal Service for Technological, Environmental and Nuclear Supervision, Permit No. RRS 00-041331.
