Paronite gaskets
Paronite gaskets are used to seal connections operating in liquid and gaseous environments: hot and cold water, steam (saturated and superheated), oil and various oil products, liquid and volatile oxygen, ammonia in various states of aggregation, alcohol and solutions based on it, neutral , inert gases. The most important property of paronite is its high temperature resistance (up to 450 C), as well as its ability to absorb.
Paronite is a material made from asbestos and rubber (natural and artificial) by pressing. A vulcanizing agent is also used in the production. Pressed rubber with the addition of asbestos fiber is used for the manufacture of various sealing materials, including pipeline gaskets. In some cases, to improve the strength characteristics of paronite, it is reinforced with a stainless steel metal mesh. Reinforced gaskets can be used in pipelines with higher working pressures.
