Asbestos gland packing AGS

AGS (Asbestos, graphite, dry.) GOST 5152-84.

AGS packing is an elastic cord of square or round cross-section woven of asbestos thread with the addition of graphite.

AGS is used in stuffing box seals of fittings operating with neutral and aggressive liquid and gaseous environments with a maximum allowable pressure of 5.0 MPa and temperature of up to 300 ° C, as well as in an environment of liquid and gaseous ammonia at pressure of up to 4.5 MPa and temperature from -70 to + 150 ° С; it’s used for sealing of fixed joints of devices with gaseous environments at pressures up to 1 MPa and temperatures not exceeding 450°С; the maximum permissible sliding speed is up to 2 m/s.
