If the temperature, pressure or chemical effects of the environment or the surrounding atmosphere do not allow the use of classic seals cut from the sealing sheets, it is recommended to use sheet metal seals with filling.

Made of soft annealed copper, the seals adhere perfectly to the surface to be sealed, at the same time preventing the environment from flowing through and also isolating the filler from the chemical attack of the environment. The most commonly used filler is heat-insulating cardboard made of high-temperature resistant mineral or ceramic fibers. Due to its laminated construction, it is characterized by sufficient elasticity to ensure tightness of the joint over the entire temperature range. Such seals are mainly used in mechanical engineering and during repairs in the transport, energy, chemical and petrochemical industries, especially where unexpected and significant pressure drops of the sealed environment are present. The seals can operate in the temperature range -200 ÷ + 600°C at pressures up to 12 MPa. Taking into account the design of the connection, after performance tests, it is permissible to exceed the above operating parameters. Seals are not recommended for use with compressed oxygen and corrosive environment for this metal.
The seals are made according to WT 296/2010. They are manufactured in two designs:
