Chrosityl asbestos of 4, 5, 6, 7 groups
Asbestos is a fibrous mineral that can break down into thin and flexible fibers. For thermal insulation, chrysotile asbestos is usually used (GOST 12871-93), which has a high temperature resistance (500 ° C for prolonged heating, 700 ° C for short-term). The tensile strength of asbestos fibers is up to 3000 MPa and exceeds the strength of steel wire.
Asbestos absorbs water well due to its developed specific surface area. This ability of asbestos is used to form porosity in all asbestos-containing thermal insulation products.
Asbestos occurs in the rock as separate veins. It is mined by explosive methods mainly in open pits. The asbestos ore mined in the quarry is subjected to mechanical enrichment, that is, the waste rock is separated from the asbestos fiber. During the enrichment process, the fiber is split and, with the help of drum sieves, it is separated, depending on the length of the fiber, into eight groups - from zero to seventh.
Chrysotile asbestos has a weak acid resistance and a high alkali resistance. The average density of asbestos depends on the degree of asbestos fluff, fiber compaction and increases with decreasing fiber length and increasing dust content. The density of asbestos is 2.4-2.6 g/cm3.
Asbestos with fibers that are not deformed during processing and are more than 2 mm in diameter are called lumpy, and those with less than 2 mm are called needles. Chrysotile asbestos with entangled deformed fibers is called fluffy; particles of rock accompanying asbestos and passing through a sieve with a mesh of 0.25 mm are dust; particles that have passed through a sieve with a mesh of 4.8 mm and remain on a sieve of 0.4 mm are fillet. Asbestos is divided into eight groups along the length of the fiber.
The designation of the grade of asbestos consists of an alphabetic expression, the first digit showing the group, the second - the mass fraction of the residue on the sieves (for asbestos 0-6th groups) and bulk density in g / dm3 (for asbestos 7th group). Letter expressions in the brand mean: AK - lumpy asbestos (group 0); DV - long-fiber asbestos (rpyrina 0); ПРЖ - asbestos of intermediate length (1st and 2nd groups), П and М - indicates the division of asbestos into subgroups (within the 2nd, 3, 4, 5 and 6th groups) depending on the mass fraction of the fraction less than 0, 14 mm; K - a method of obtaining asbestos (6th group).
Depending on the asbestos group and the guaranteed fiber residue on the sieves of the control apparatus, asbestos is subdivided into 42 grades. For example, the K-6-30 mark means that asbestos is obtained by the method of dust-collecting devices (K), belongs to the 6th group (6) and the residue on the sieve is 30%. Moisture content should not exceed 3%.
Chrysotile, Textile Group
The main field of application is for the production of textile and chrysotile technical products: chrysotile cement pipes, braided and gland packing, gaskets, heat-resistant clothing, fabric and thread, brake bands, filters, etc.
