Silicone sleeves (hoses)
Hoses made of biologically inert materials based on silicone rubbers (silicone hoses) offer excellent resistance to high stress, are very flexible, operate in a wide temperature range from -60 to +270oC, are moisture resistant and do not allow sticking.
Due to these properties, silicone sleeves are used as insulation on the rollers of corona treatment stations, as well as for pumping mushy raw materials (gypsum) in the production of drywall, abrasive, liquid products, etc. They are widely used in food production.
Silicone sleeves in the food industry.
In the food industry, silicone sleeves are used as flexible pipelines for supplying and sucking liquids (chilled milk mixtures, beer, sauces, wine, low-alcohol drinks, alcohol, juice, fruit drink, etc.), gases, air and bulk substances.
Silicone sleeves have a working pressure from 0.4 MPa to 6.3 MPa, have high elasticity due to the properties of silicone, which allows them to perfectly retain their original shape even in the extreme temperature range from -60 to +270oC. In the production of hoses, the highest quality silicone rubbers are used, which practically do not lend themselves to aging processes.
Silicone sleeves for corona surface treatment stations.
Corona processing stations are used for tubular and flat slit extrusion lines, biaxially oriented film (BOPP) lines, laminating lines, printing machines and various other types of equipment. This is usually done interactively through an electrical discharge between an electrode and a metal dielectric.
In this case, silicone sleeves are used as insulation on the rollers of corona treatment stations.
Properties of silicone rubber sleeves:
Electric field up to 20-30 kV / mm
Resistance: ~ 1015 Ohm.cm
Dielectric constant (epsilon): ~ 3.0
Main characteristics of silicone sleeves:
High elasticity, which allows you to perfectly maintain its original shape.
Silicone sleeves operate in an extreme temperature range of -60 to + 270oC.
Inner diameter up to 73 mm, outer diameter up to 90 mm.
Working pressure of silicone hoses up to 6.3 MPa (reinforced)
Hardness 50-75 Shore A.
Chemical resistance of sleeves based on silicone rubbers:
Gas: ammonia, oxygen, ozone.
Salts: sodium carbonate, copper sulfate, ferric chloride, sodium chloride.
Acids: nitric (10%), sulfuric (30-50%), hydrochloric (10-18%), stearic, acetic (30%), phosphoric.
Solvents: hydrogen peroxide, ethylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, acetone.
Food products: beer, wine, juices, alcohol, vegetable and ghee, milk, etc.
For work with high pressure, it is possible to manufacture reinforced (fabric reinforcement) silicone sleeves. Reinforcement in one layer with a wall thickness of 5 mm withstands pressure up to 6 atm. For higher pressures, reinforcement can be made in 2 or more layers.
It is possible to manufacture silicone sleeves in different colors.
